    LTE - Overview, Operations and Testing Requirements (IT247)

    Synopsis3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the new UMTS standard making use of latest technologies such as OFDMA based access, frequency based scheduling, MIMO and higher order digital modulation techniques. LTE promises to deliver peak data rates of up to 300Mbps in the downlink and up to 75Mbps in the uplink, while keeping the network infrastructure deployment cost and terminal complexity at a low level. LTE is the natural evolution of GSM/EDGE (2G/2.5G) and UMTS/HSPA (3G/3.5G) network technologies making 3GPP standards competitive over other cellular standards in the next decade.

    Participants attending this training course will gain an appreciation of the network architecture and operation of the LTE system including the OFDM based radio interface. The functional blocks high level design of a LTE mobile unit is also covered with emphasis given on the RF performance measurement & conformance testing requirements.

    What You Will LearnThe first day of the course gives an overview to LTE technology, system architecture, devices and trends for the general audience level. The second day of the course goes into more details in LTE operations and procedures and testing requirements for LTE mobile device, targeting at engineers, designers and developers level.

    Who Should AttendEngineers and Technical Managers who are involved in product marketing, production, test and development of components, circuits and systems for LTE. It is also applicable for those deploying and maintaining such systems in the field.

    PrerequisiteTechnical background in electrical, electronics, physics, mathematics at Diploma or Degree levels, with good understanding of digital communication system.
