Cellular Technologies with Emphasis on 3G and 3.5G (IT21-7-0)

SynopsisThe mobile communication industry is undergoing rapid change in terms of technology, service and applications. 3G systems have been deployed rapidly in many countries. There have been efforts to further enhance the systems to generations beyond 3G.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the various fundamentals of the mobile communication systems. Participants shall be taught the fundamentals and how they are applied in current and emerging mobile communication systems.

Overview on all existing 2G and 2.5G systems are provided before pariticipants are taught the operating principles of the 3G and emerging mobile communication technologies and systems. Detailed coverage on WCDMA system and overview of emerging new technologies such as HSDPA are provided.
