What You Will Learn1) Necessary technical soft skills for engineers to adapt from the university environment to real life technical working environment. These skills are:

  • Technical writing
  • Technical presentation
  • Creative problem solving - Triz

2) Practical skills in software and hardware tools used in the industry for test development work in Electronic Instrumentation. These tools are :
  • Agilent Electronic Test Equipments such as Function Generator, LCR Meter, Oscilloscope, DMM, Logic Analyzer
  • Agilent VEE Graphical Programming
  • Agilent IntuiLink Waveform Editor

3) Pre-requisite knowledge required to design and develop RF and DSP-based test solution using industry-leading tools. These knowledge are :
  • Test and Measurement Concepts
  • Electronic Test and Measurement Instruments
  • IO Libraries and VEE Programming

4) Working skills required to develop RF and DSP-based test solution, after acquiring both practical skills in tools and pre-requisite knowledge in subject area. These skills are :
  • Design of Test Solution, based on technical performance required of the application

Who Should AttendAvailable K-Workers who are looking for practical skills in preparation for a technical career in electronic industry such as:

  • Design and Development Engineer
  • Characterization Engineer
  • Test Development Engineer
  • System Integration Engineer
  • Technical Marketing Engineer
  • Product Marketing Engineer
  • etc

Prerequisite

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Diploma/Degree holders in ICT-related field
  • Available K-Workers (currently unemployed, in-between jobs, changing fields, retrenched) with Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • CGPA 2.5 or above

Course MethodologyThe participants are first taught the theories in classroom setting with the aid of software tools. The concepts are re-enforced through tutorial and case studies of how the theories are applied in real-life. Demonstration using the instruments and a system trainer will be carried out to illustrate various principles and techniques.

The participants are then taught the use of software and hardware tools in a lab. The concepts are re-enforced through practical exercises on the use of the tools thorough the testing of a system trainer.

Having acquired both practical skills in tools and pre-requisite knowledge in the subject area, the participants are required to design a test solution as part of individual project work.
