MSC Malaysia Job Camp - RF Passive Circuit Design (CP091)

SynopsisJob camp (JC) offerred by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is designed specifically for any Knowledge worker who wants to improve or expand their current ICT skills and knowledge. This program seeks to help knowledge workers with the support and access to courses and trainings to stay aligned with the current needs of the ICT industry.

DreamCatcher Consulting has been appointed by MDeC to offer programs in engineering tracks namely VLSI, DSP, and RF.

The general entry requirement for the program is Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Upon completion of the training program, participants are expected to acquire skill sets required to meet existing vacancies in the industry.

Program Highlight

  • coaching from experienced academic instructors as well as engineers from industry
  • projects and tutorials will be led by seasoned engineers, to encourage sharing of real-life experiences
  • substantial lab exercises to ensure participants have ample opportunities for hands-on
  • use of leading software and hardware RF tools from Agilent, CST, and Avago for various design, verification, and analysis activities
  • inclusion of individual projects to ensure participants have opportunities to work on real assignment in a safe environment, before embarking on their career in the industry

Program Details

  • Each course is 23 days in duration
  • Courses are held in Kuala Lumpur and Penang
  • Course fees are fully borne by MDeC

What You Will Learn1) Necessary technical soft skills for engineers to adapt from the university environment to real life technical working environment. These skills are:

  • Technical writing
  • Technical presentation
  • Creative problem solving - Triz

2) Practical skills in software and hardware tools used in the industry for design and development work in RF Passive circuit. These tools are :
  • Agilent EEsof ADS Linear and 2.5D EM Simulation
  • CST Microwave Studio
  • Agilent RF Microwave Equipments such as Network Analyser, Spectrum Analyser, Power Meter, Noise Figure Analyser, Signal Generator

3) Pre-requisite knowledge required to design and develop RF-based projects using industry-leading tools. These knowledge are :
  • Fundamental Concepts of RF Passive Circuit
  • Technology Advances in RF Industry
  • Design Concepts of RF Passive Circuit

4) Working skills required to design and develop RF-based projects, after acquiring both practical skills in tools and pre-requisite knowledge in subject area. These skills are :
  • Design of RF Passive circuit, based on technical performance required of the circuit
  • Testing of RF Passive circuit, to compare desired performance vs actual result

Who Should AttendAvailable K-Workers who are looking for practical skills in preparation for a technical career in RF industry such as:

  • Design and Development Engineer
  • Characterization Engineer
  • Test Development Engineer
  • System Integration Engineer
  • Technical Marketing Engineer
  • Product Marketing Engineer
  • etc

Prerequisite

  • Malaysian citizens
  • Diploma/Degree holders in ICT-related fields
  • Available K-Workers (currently unemployed, in-between jobs, changing fields, retrenched) with Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
  • CGPA 2.5 or above

Course MethodologyThe participants are first taught the theories in classroom setting with the aid of software tools. The concepts are re-enforced through tutorial and case studies of how the theories are applied in real-life. Demonstration using the instruments and building blocks of RF Passive circuits will be carried out to illustrate various principles and techniques.

The participants are then taught the use of software and hardware tools in a lab. The concepts are re-enforced through practical exercises on the use of the tools to test and design RF Passive circuits.

Having acquired both practical skills in tools and pre-equisite knowledge in the subject area, the participants are required to design an RF Passive circuit as part of individual project work. The circuit will be tested to compare desired performance vs actual result.
