Measurement Uncertainty Analysis Using GUM Method (AG235)

    Synopsis

This course intends to introduce the principles of measurement uncertainty analysis as in “ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement” (GUM) widely adopted and recognized by national standards laboratories such as NPL and NIST. The guide presents a systematic approach in identifying and deriving type A and type B standard uncertainties and various measurement analyses.

    What You Will Learn

After attending the seminar, the attendees will obtain a useful high-level understanding to identify, and establish measurement budget based on GUM (ISO Guide to Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement).

    Who Should Attend

    • Calibration laboratory engineers/managers
    • Testing laboratory engineers/managers
    • Reliability engineers
    • Manufacturing engineers
    • Product engineers
    • Metrologists

    Prerequisite

    N/A

Course MethodologyThe course materials will be presented in an interactive lecture style, as well using lab exercises, group discussions, and pop quizzes to demonstrate the concepts introduced. Attendee is required to bring a laptop for class work.
